DESCRIPTION: EPW - Vacheron & Constantin, Genève, dress watch with rare plaque dial, 50mm, 18K gold OF original Vacheron & Constantin case, signed gold cuvette marked additionally "Fabriquè spècialement pour G. Jost, Gênes," gold engine turned dial with raised enamel hour plaques and minute chapter, SW-SS, lever escapement with capped escape wheel, 18J, wolf's tooth winding, gilt mvt, s#350111. Gross weight of assembled watch 49.0 dwt (76.3 g).
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, good gilt tone, haze spot to stepped portion of ratchet wheel bridge, few short fine scratches and very small haze spots elsewhere; dial with some mild micro-fine scratches to gold portion, some mild surface rub inside minute chapter, minute chapter with chipping or flaking between 9 and 10 causing loss of some minute markers, hour plaques are flawless; excellent blue hour and minute hands, seconds-hand is a silver colored replacement that is cosmetically fine; case shows light wear, profuse fine to micro-fine scratches to rear, cuvette with some short perimeter scratches from slipped past openings, dent to band with associated surface roughness near 6, short fine surface fracture to band at 4, some dings to band along left side, numerous dings to rear, crease type dent to left perimeter of rear, bezel and rear closing with narrow gap to band in some areas; tight bow, crown shows medium wear with ridge break; glass crystal with small edge nick at upper-right.
